In 2011, even before BRIGHT Products was established, we received a lot of positive attention when we won The Common Pitch in Colorado. Now we are happy to announce that the SunBell lamp will be sold trough our partner Eartheasy Sustainable Living, and their growing network of retailers and online stores in the US and Canada. This value driven and successful family company have over 3 million users of their own online store, and supply some 800 retail stores and online stores with high quality products for sustainable living and emergency preparedness. We could not have found a better partner, and look forward to shipping the first products in February. Yihaaa!

Through the Permanent Mission of Norway to the United Nations, BRIGHT Products have been invited to attend and present at a high level Sustainable Energy for All meeting in New York. We are honored and thrilled about this opportunity to share the stage with H.E. Ban Ki-moon and tell our story on April 22.
Our presentation will focus on user centric product development and the universal need for light in different situations - no matter where you live, work or play. "Sustainable Energy for All" is a powerful promise that have inspired BRIGHT and a number of entrepreneurial companies to develop and deliver great products to the off grid market. Through this invitation we feel that the UN acknowlegde the entrepreneurs and innovators from the private sector - and open for future talks about shared value creation.

We have recently returned from Bangkok, Thailand where the BRIGHT team looked for our future production partners. We visited three potential partners for tooling and plastic parts manufacturing and also spent a lot of time visting production sites. We can´t wait to get started. We also met up with our friends and partners from Doble, Australia, planning to produce their amazing telescopic light pole at the same factory.
After Bangkok we went on to Singapore, where we spent a full day with our friends and allies at SERIS (Solar Energy Research Institute of Singapore. We believe this will also be an important and fruitful relationship going forward.

In October and November BRIGHT Products ran a crowd funding campaign with the global platform of Indiegogo. In just 50 days we managed to reach our goal of 50.000$ with the help of 344 amazing supporters from 16 different countries. Half of the BELL lamps ordered were for own use of our supporters, half of them were donated to our partnership with CARE Norway and will be delivered to women entrepreneurs, doctors, midwives and schoolchildren in our CARE projects.
Many supporters chipped in with small donations as well, and like promised, here is a big, official THANK YOU to all our supporters, and a list of those who chipped in with all the small amounts.

In November we visited the big Lighting Africa event of the year. The conference in Dakar was great with new insights and valualbe contributions from many of the leading institutions in this industry.
BRIGHT Products presented our BELL Lamp at our own stand in the exhibition hall, and met fantastic interest. At the Trade Fair we also got to meet our new friends and allies at Doble (Australia) and Fosera (Germany) with whom we are planning for future collaboration. More to come on this.
Kristian Bye - July 2012
In the period of May - July BRIGHT Products travelled a lot to test prototypes of the BELL Lamp. Through our partnership with CARE Norway and new found contacts through other networks, we covered a lot of ground over a hectic 2 month period. We performed focus groups in Kawangware, Kenya (THANKS to LivelyHoods/Ismart), met eager distributors in Nairobi and visited rural communities in Thika and Kajiado. In Tanzania we left 2 prototypes for long term testing among their women entrepreneurs. Then the journey took us to Dhaka, Bangladesh and field trips with the CARE Social Business, JITA. A great team recruiting and training women entrepreneurs for self reliance and sale of really useful products. Hope to be working more with them in the future.
